Lanesborough Fire Department Mourns Passing of Lea Mae Speth

January 25, 2026 — The Lanesborough Fire Department expressed its sincere condolences to the Speth family following the passing of Lea Mae Speth, 92, formerly of Lanesborough, who died peacefully on January 18, 2026.
Lea Mae Speth was the wife of former Fire Chief Joe Speth and the mother of former department members Daniel, William, and Thomas Speth. She was part of a family with deep and lasting ties to the Lanesborough Fire Department and the community it serves.
Department members extend their thoughts and sympathies to the Speth family during this time of loss.
