January 25, 2026 — Members of the Pittsfield Fire Department participated in the annual BFit Challenge, tackling the demanding stair climb event despite challenging winter conditions and limited visibility from 30 floors above the city.
The BFit Challenge tests firefighters’ endurance and teamwork as they climb high-rise stairwells in full gear, simulating the physical demands of real-world emergencies. This year’s event was marked by severe weather, but crews pressed on, demonstrating determination and resilience.
