Wood-Ridge Fire Department Announces Passing of Exempt Firefighter Robert MacDonald

Robert MacDonald, a 74-year-old exempt firefighter, passed away on December 28, 2025, according to the Wood-Ridge Fire Department. MacDonald was given badge number 3 while he was employed by the Wood-Ridge Fire Department from June 1972 until August 1983. Following his departure from Wood-Ridge, MacDonald remained involved in the volunteer fire service, becoming a member of the Dumont, Haworth, and Hasbrouck Heights fire departments. His ongoing participation demonstrated a long-standing dedication to the fire service community and public safety. MacDonald and his family were living in Florida at the time of his death.
