Camden City, NJ — January 3 — Five volunteers from Oaklyn Fire Department Squad 18 responded to a third-alarm fire on Mt. Ephraim Avenue in Camden City. When they arrived, Squad 18 was designated as the water relay's end unit, assisting with the ongoing firefighting efforts. To ensure a steady supply of water for businesses operating in the fire area, the crew set up and ran a ground monitor. In order to support engine, ladder, and special service companies, third-alarm situations in Camden City usually necessitate prolonged operations and mutual aid from several nearby departments. While operations proceeded, Squad 18 continued to serve under the command of the incident. At the time of the reaction, no further details regarding injuries or damage were made public.
