Mutual Aid Supports Camden During Heavy Fire Activity

Camden, NJ — Jan. 3 — Over a brief period of time, Camden Fire Officers Local #2578 members were involved in several major fire incidents, which put a constant strain on city resources. Firefighters in Camden responded to a four-alarm fire on Saturday, which necessitated prolonged suppression efforts and mutual aid support.


Crews responded to an All Hands fire on Spruce Street early the next morning. Firefighters battled to contain the fire and safeguard adjacent exposures when they came across active fire conditions. One firefighter received treatment after suffering a minor burn injury during operations. Coordinated efforts were used to contain both fires. While crews remained dedicated to extended situations, fire officials emphasized the value of covering units and mutual assistance partners in preserving citywide response capabilities.
