On January 26, a reported residence fire prompted the Washington Township Fire Department, Glassboro Fire Department, and Mantua Township Fire Department to go to the 700 block of Hurffville Crosskeys Road. Firefighters found a working fire at the house as soon as they arrived. Businesses were able to quickly put out the fire and checked for extension to make sure it hadn't spread to other parts of the building. The event did not result in any reported injuries. Additionally, the Washington Township EMS provided on-site assistance and was ready to offer medical assistance if necessary. In addition to ensuring the safety of both residents and responding staff, the coordinated reaction assisted in controlling the situation.
