Multi-Agency Response to Vehicle Fire in Bayonne

Bayonne, NJ — January 20 — The Bayonne Office of Emergency Management reported a fully involved vehicle fire at 148 East 5th Street. When Bayonne Fire Department units arrived, they discovered that the car was heavily involved.


In order to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings and automobiles, firefighters extended handlines and worked swiftly to put it out. Crews were able to secure the site and finish the overhaul because the event was quickly brought under control. While the Bayonne Department of Public Works supported scene operations, the Bayonne Police Department helped with traffic management. According to Fire Chief Keith Weaver, the fire was effectively put out and no injuries were recorded.
