Wenonah, NJ — January 24 — In West Deptford, members of the Wenonah Volunteer Fire Company responded as mutual aid to a working commercial structure fire. When the West Deptford Fire Department arrived, they discovered that a one-story business structure was emitting a lot of smoke. They upgraded the situation to a working fire and then set off a second alarm.
A 1½-inch handline was advanced by first-due personnel, and it was later strengthened by a 2½-inch blitz line. A tower was placed in the back for support activities, and ladder companies worked in several divisions. The RIT Group was given Wenonah and the Woodbury Heights Fire Department. Throughout the incident, crews maintained firefighter safety and monitoring conditions by establishing accountability and safety posts in Divisions A and C.
