Washington Township, NJ — 4th January — A reported home fire on Alexandria Drive prompted the Washington Township Fire Department and mutual-aid organizations from Mantua and Glassboro to react. After the initial size-up was finished, Battalion Chief Pinnelli came and confirmed a basement fire. To contain the fire, firefighters moved hoselines inside the house and carried out interior operations. To make sure the fire stayed restricted to the basement area, ventilation and extension tests were finished. There were no reported injuries to firefighters or civilians during the incident. Units stayed on the site until overhauls and safety inspections were finished, operating under a unified command structure. Units were later released once the fire was quickly contained. Fire officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
