The day began at approximately 1:06 a.m. with a reported chimney fire, followed by a possible electrical fire at 8:20 a.m. Shortly after 11 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a fire alarm that was upgraded to an electrical fire, then to reports of smoke coming from a building at 11:09 a.m., and a gas odor inside a residence at 11:20 a.m. All incidents were safely handled through the combined response of Mays Landing, Cologne, and Laureldale volunteer firefighters, with support from dispatchers managing high call volumes and radio traffic throughout the morning.
