Surf City, NJ — January 23 — The Surf City Volunteer Fire Company presented a continuing education course on fractures and splinting at the department firehouse as part of their monthly EMS drill. Members might practice stabilizing techniques targeted at enhancing patient safety and comfort during transportation at hands-on stations.

Officers from the department observed that falls, car accidents, and recreational activities frequently result in fracture-related injuries, particularly in coastal regions. Members can stay up to date on state continuing education requirements and standards by participating in regular EMS drills. Crews can train together and uphold uniform care standards by holding in-house training. As part of its dedication to community response readiness, Surf City Volunteer Fire Company continues to place a strong emphasis on continuing EMS education.
