Firefighters Begin 2026 With Call on Rutherford Avenue

At around 12:12 a.m. in 2026, the Lyndhurst Fire Department responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 400 block of Rutherford Avenue. On arrival, there was apparent fire, according to early accounts. The event was reduced to a major external contents fire that was next to a detached garage after an investigation. After swiftly putting out the fire, firefighters thoroughly inspected the area to make sure it was safe and to look for any hidden extensions.
