New Egypt, NJ — January 17 — With a history spanning from 1901 to 2026, New Egypt Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 is commemorating 125 years of community service. The department was established to offer structured fire protection to the expanding village of New Egypt, and it has developed in tandem with the community it serves. With a heavy emphasis on safety and training, members made the transition over the years from early hand-drawn and motorized apparatus to contemporary firefighting equipment.
In order to support locals and nearby organizations, the department has continued to be involved in mutual aid operations, disaster response, and community activities. New Egypt Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 is honoring its history and getting ready for the future of volunteer fire service as it commemorates this milestone.
