Whiting, NJ — December 26 — A reported garage fire in the town's Fox Hollow neighborhood prompted the response of Whiting Fire Company Station 33. The assignment was escalated once Captain 3330 arrived first and verified that the fire was operational. Before they arrived, neighbors had put out the fire with a fire extinguisher, which slowed its spread. Every inhabitant was securely accounted for, according to Captain 3330.

After arriving and taking over, Chief 3300 delegated operations to 2nd Assistant Chief 3320, while Captain 3330 operated inside. Engine 3301 swiftly put out the remaining fire with a 1½-inch attack line, limiting damage to the garage and preventing it from spreading into the house. A dog that was unhurt and returned to its owners was safely taken out of the house by crews. There were no reported injuries. Sta. 33, Whiting Fire Company.
