December 19, 2025 — Members of the Dorothy Volunteer Fire Company EMS duty crew responded to an unusual but welcome call when they assisted in freeing a dog that had accidentally become locked inside a vehicle with the keys trapped inside. Upon arrival, EMS personnel safely accessed the vehicle and ensured the animal was unharmed. The dog was quickly reunited and comforted, turning what could have been a stressful situation into a positive outcome. Incidents like this highlight the wide range of calls emergency responders handle and their commitment to helping all members of the community—two-legged and four-legged alike.
