On December 24, the Pleasantville Fire Department and many mutual assistance organizations responded to a working structure fire on East Thompson Avenue. When firefighters arrived, they discovered an active fire. They coordinated with supporting departments to start suppression efforts. As crews attempted to contain the situation, mutual assistance units assisted with fire attack, water supply, and site operations. To finish extinguishing and overhauling, firefighters stayed on the spot for a long time.
