Wayne Fire Companies Honor Ex-Chief William “Butts” Butler

WAYNE, NJ — January 4 — In remembrance of former Chief William "Butts" Butler of Company 5, the Community Volunteer Fire Company #1, Inc. joined other fire departments in Wayne Township. To honor Butler's 61 years of service and his enduring contribution to the local fire service, members united.


Butler was well-known for his consistent leadership, encouragement of training, and dedication to teamwork throughout township companies throughout his tenure. Firefighters reported that his leadership shaped operations, cooperation, and mentoring during community events and responses. Butler was respected by the Wayne fire community, as seen by the gathering. His commitment set an example for both present and future members, according to fire officials.
