December 20, 2025 — Firefighters from the Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company and the Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Company responded at approximately 10:16 p.m. to a reported structure fire in the 4000 block of Ivins Avenue. Arriving crews encountered a single-story, detached garage fully involved, with heavy fire conditions threatening a nearby residence. Engines 1512 and 1516, along with Rescue 1517, were deployed from Cardiff, while mutual aid was provided by the Scullville Volunteer Fire Company, which supplied a tanker due to limited water availability, and an engine from the Northfield City Fire Department. Firefighters worked under difficult weather conditions to bring the fire under control and prevent extension to adjacent structures. One firefighter sustained a minor injury and was treated on scene. The incident was investigated by the Egg Harbor Township Fire Investigations Bureau. Support on scene was provided by the Egg Harbor Township Rescue Squad and the Egg Harbor Township Police Department. The incident commander was Cardiff Fire Chief Bill Danz III.
