December 19, 2025 — Members of the Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company #1 conducted a hands-on vehicle extrication, commonly known as “Jaws of Life,” training drill Friday night, just days before Christmas. The exercise focused on advanced rescue techniques used to safely remove occupants from severely damaged vehicles. The training was supported by Dennis Sites of Municipal Emergency Services, with vehicles donated by Matt Portnoy and Sons Auto Recycling. The drill was led by Cardiff Lt. Will Danz and highlighted the ongoing commitment of local volunteers who dedicate personal time to ensure readiness for real-world emergencies.
