December 14, 2025 — At approximately 5:45 p.m., members of the Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company and the Farmington Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched to the Tower East Mobile Home Park in the 2500 block of Tremont Avenue for a reported structure fire. Cardiff units Rescue 1517 and Engine 1512 responded with crews, arriving to find heavy smoke and fire showing from a single-story mobile home. Firefighters faced challenging conditions including extreme cold, snow, and icy surfaces while advancing lines and conducting suppression operations. Due to the volume of fire and weather conditions, additional assistance was requested from the Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Company and the Northfield City Fire Department. Crews successfully extinguished the fire, checked for extension, and ventilated the structure. No injuries were reported. The incident was investigated by the EHT Fire Investigations Bureau, with on-scene medical support provided by the EHT Rescue Squad.
