PENNSVILLE, NJ — January 5 — Chief Cowperthwait has been appointed to head Pennsville Fire & Rescue Company No. 1. The appointment comes after years of service and participation in departmental leadership, rescue operations, and fire suppression.
It is anticipated that Chief Cowperthwait will prioritize operational preparedness, training standards, and firefighter safety. In addition, the position involves managing equipment upkeep, coordinating replies with partners in mutual aid, and assisting with daily departmental operations. As the business continues to serve the township, department officers observed the importance of consistent leadership and effective communication. In collaboration with nearby EMS and law enforcement organizations, Pennsville Fire & Rescue responds to fire, rescue, and emergency situations around the community. As the new chief takes over and carries on the department's public service goal, members showed their support.
