Carneys Point, NJ — January 14 — All essential tasks pertaining to fire suppression and rescue operations are carried out by volunteer firemen with the Carneys Point Fire Dept. & Rescue Squad Inc., located at 258 D Street. In addition to reactions to hazardous materials occurrences, members receive training in interior firefighting, search and rescue, vehicle fires, and motor vehicle accidents. Regular training, equipment inspections, and departmental coordination are necessary for these duties. Volunteers work in a variety of environments and need to be ready to modify their strategies depending on the nature of the incident and the risks at the scene. Partnerships for mutual aid help sustain coverage throughout the region and enable more extensive or complicated responses. Volunteer firemen continue to play a vital role in providing the Carneys Point community with dependable emergency services while juggling their work, school, and family obligations.
