?Hancocks Bridge, NJ — December 25 — Based at 15 Maple Avenue in Hancocks Bridge, Lower Alloways Creek Fire & Rescue was sent into Salem City in response to a functioning box alarm regarding a structure fire at an East Broadway strip mall. With about ten members, including 18-10 (Hinchman), engines 18-1 and 18-2 reacted. In order to serve Ladder 19, Engine 18-1 installed an estimated 300 to 400 feet of five-inch supply line from a hydrant between McDonald's and the abandoned Rite Aid to the back of the building. Members of the crews were divided into two groups, one for roof operations and the other for forcing access into nearby businesses to see if the fire had spread. After completing their tasks, both engine companies went back to the district.
