Somerville, N.J. — January 10th — As firefighters get closer to putting Ladder 57 into service, training at the Somerville Fire Department continues. Firefighters are finishing practical exercises that emphasize tool placement, safe positioning at incidents, aerial ladder operations, and apparatus familiarization. Coordination with engine companies to assist normal responses and fireground activities is another aspect of training.

Before the truck is put into duty, officers are going over operating procedures and making sure members are comfortable with its capabilities. Once the equipment is put into active action, the objective is to minimize delays and offer reliable operations. According to department representatives, ongoing training promotes dependability, efficiency, and safety for Somerville's citizens and guests.
