Rocky Hill Borough, NJ — 21st December — Somerset County Communications sent Stations 46 and 53 to a suspected fire alarm on Crescent Avenue in Rocky Hill Borough while Operation Santa preparations were in progress. Engine 46-8, Truck 46, and Deputy Chief 46 reacted right away with crews already on hand. Firefighters found a fire in one of the complex's buildings when they arrived. After Chief 53 elevated the situation to a first alarm on Box 53-01, more mutual aid organizations arrived on the site and Station 46 was covered. The fire was swiftly contained by first-arriving units, preventing further spread. Station 46 also responded to an overturned car later that day. Activities related to Operation Santa were carried out according to schedule despite some reactions. Agencies in the Hillsborough region coordinated coverage to keep service standards high all day.
