January 1, 2026— Durham Fire & Rescue extended Happy New Year wishes to the community while reflecting on a productive and demanding year of service. During the past year, response teams successfully handled approximately 400 calls, including fires, medical emergencies, and motor vehicle accidents.
Department officials noted that crews consistently delivered high-level care across all incident types, supported by the dedication of community volunteers who helped ensure reliable emergency response throughout the year.
