On Monday, January 5 at approximately 830pm, The Paterson Fire Dept, under the command of D.C. Matt Hyman, responded to a fire in a large abandoned mansion on the city's east side. Upon arrival first arriving units reported a working fire on the 2nd floor extending to the roof. A defensive attack was started as the fire was already thru the roof. The fire was in one wing of the building, After approximately 1 hour, firefighters were able to remove the plywood covering the access and were able to attack the fire from inside. Units remained on the scene for several hours into the night. There was no report of injuries. Mutual Aid was received for coverage for the city. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
