January 1, 2026 —Lititz Fire Company No. 1 began the new year with its first emergency response of 2026, answering a call for an outbuilding fire along Rudy Dam Road in Warwick Township. Fire crews arrived to find a well-involved outbuilding with flames and heavy smoke extending toward nearby vehicles and a residence. Engine 25-1’s crew quickly deployed handlines and brought the fire under control, successfully preventing further spread and limiting damage to the exterior of the home. No injuries were reported.
Fire officials credited the rapid knockdown and coordinated response for preventing a more serious incident. Assistance on scene was provided by Brunnerville Fire Company, Rothsville Fire/Ambulance Company, Manheim Township Fire Rescue, Warwick Community Ambulance, and Warwick Emergency Services Commission. The incident marked a swift and effective start to the year for local emergency responders.
