Firefighters responded to a trailer fire in the 500 block of Furnace Hills Pike (Route 501) at approximately 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Crews arriving on scene found fire involving the refrigeration unit of a commercial trailer positioned alongside a building.
Firefighters deployed handlines and used specialized tools to access and extinguish the fire, preventing it from spreading beyond the refrigeration compartment. The incident was brought under control in a timely manner, and damage was limited to the affected unit. No injuries were reported.
Officials said the response highlighted coordinated suppression efforts and technical skills required for commercial vehicle fires, which can present unique hazards due to fuel sources and mechanical components.
