Netcong, New Jersey — December 26 — A reported residential structure fire with potential entrapment on Togno Street was responded to in the evening by Department Netcong Fire Company No. 1, which has its headquarters at 40 Maple Ave.
As a precaution, Chief 1 asked Budd Lake for a Rapid Intervention Crew while travelling. When police arrived, they verified that the fire was electrical in nature and that everyone had left the house. Before firefighters arrived, the homeowner and patrol officers put out the first fire using fire extinguishers. Crews from Engine 1 entered the fire room, broke down the walls, and put out the last of the fire extension. There were no reported injuries when the incident was brought under control. Early action and a coordinated response, according to officials, reduced damage and promoted safe operations for all participating organizations.
