The Ridgewood Fire Department's B Platoon was called to a fully involved detached garage fire on Christmas Day. The response also included more personnel due to holiday staffing exchanges. The garage was highly engaged when the crews arrived, but the building was sufficiently distant from neighboring residences to minimize exposure risks. A nearby garage at the back of the property was the sole notable exposure. To stop the fire from spreading further, firefighters attempted to confine and put it out. The Paramus and Ho-Ho-Kus fire departments offered further support. Damage was restricted to the affected garage, and no casualties were recorded. Fire authorities observed that the homeowners' timely notice assisted personnel in controlling the situation.
