Jefferson Township, New Jersey — December 13 — Due to dangerous travel circumstances brought on by snowfall and deteriorating road conditions, on-duty personnel are responding to more emergencies. Several calls were handled, according to Montgomery County Sheriff's Office officials in Dayton, Ohio, as roads became snow-covered and challenging to drive on.

Residents are being reminded by emergency services organizations to stay vigilant during winter weather events and to minimize travel unless absolutely necessary. In addition to increasing risks for both drivers and rescuers, snow and ice can reduce response times. Firefighters and EMTs are on duty and ready to respond if circumstances change, according to the Jefferson Township Fire Department. Officials stressed that public collaboration, safe driving, and readiness all contribute to the efficient operation of emergency personnel in cold weather.
