Mutual Aid Crews Operate for Hours at Asbury Park Fire

Asbury Park, New Jersey — December 19 — The Wanamassa Fire Company's Engine 75 and Chief 66 responded to a box alarm structure fire in the City of Asbury Park. Wanamassa firemen were tasked with helping the Asbury Park Fire Department with ongoing fire suppression efforts as soon as they arrived.


As crews battled challenging circumstances to contain and put out the fire, firefighters labored for several hours. To ensure safety and efficacy, operations required coordinated handline work, scene management, and ongoing staff rotation. Members of the Deal Fire Department, Long Branch Professional Firefighters, Monmouth-Ocean Uniformed Firefighters IAFF Local 3874, and Asbury Park Professional Firefighters Local 384 provided further support throughout the incident.
