Wanamassa, New Jersey — December 7 — On Pearl Harbour Remembrance Day, which commemorates the anniversary of the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbour, Wanamassa Fire Company members joined communities across the country. The attack altered the history of the country by killing over 2,400 people and sending the US into World War II.
Today's emergency services workers use the day as a reminder of responsibility, preparedness, and cooperation in times of emergency. These same values are still upheld in the day-to-day work of law police, firefighters, and EMS professionals. The Wanamassa Fire Company, located at 2001 Sunset Ave. in Wanamassa, observes December 7 as a day to remember the deceased and to consider the enduring teachings of service, readiness, and dedication to safeguarding others.
