Manalapan, NJ — December 10 — At Monmouth Battlefield State Park, members of Manalapan Township Fire Company 1 took part in a Wreaths Across America ceremony. As cars drove by below, firefighters used the department's ladder truck to raise a big American flag over the road. The Freehold Township Ind. Fire Company #1 participated in the operation and provided equipment assistance for the flag detail. The purpose of the event was to recognize the contribution of military veterans and to honour and remember them. Additionally there to help with safety and traffic management were the New Jersey State Police and the New Jersey State Park Police. Without any problems, the ceremony came to an end.
