Little Silver, NJ — December 29 — In response to an apartment fire at the Shore Condos on Ocean Avenue, the Little Silver Fire Company participated in a sizable mutual assistance effort. A 9-1-1 call of a fire in an occupied 12-story residential structure was received by the Monmouth County Communications Centre. Along with automatic assistance from nearby departments, Monmouth Beach Police, Fire, and EMS were sent out. Sea Bright Fire Chief Chad Murphy confirmed a second-floor apartment fire and sent out a second alarm when Monmouth Beach Fire Chief Tim Griffin arrived. Firefighters contained the fire to the original flat by conducting an interior attack. Within an hour, the fire was contained. There were no reported injuries to responders or civilians. Local and county fire officials are still looking into the reason.
