LSFD Handles Evening Dumpster Fire Without Injuries

Little Silver, NJ — December 18 — A skip fire was reported in the Laurel Drive area on Wednesday night, prompting the Little Silver Fire Company to react. When firemen arrived, they discovered a working fire involving a trash can and extended a handline to start putting it out. The fire was swiftly put out by firefighters, preventing it from spreading to adjacent property. To make sure the fire was completely put out, the area around the dumpster was examined. While operations were underway, local law enforcement provided assistance with scene safety. There were no reported injuries to responders or civilians. Fire officials said the prompt response and coordinated operations helped limit damage and allowed units to clear the scene in a timely manner. After overhaul was completed and conditions were deemed safe, units returned to service.
