Keyport, NJ — December 17 — A reported garage fire prompted the Keyport Fire Department to react to the 0 block of Chandler Avenue. When Deputy Chief Parker got there, he verified that there was a fire in the adjoining garage and sent out the box alarm for more help. Squad Company 22 advanced a handline through the front entrance of the house and set up its own water supply. In order to stop the fire from spreading into the living space, crews swiftly put it out and kept it to the garage. Suppression, overhaul, and ventilation activities were supplemented by additional units. Early size-up, timely water supply, and well-coordinated interior actions, according to fire officials, contributed to the incident's containment. Units cleared after finishing missions, and neither civilian nor firefighter casualties were reported.
