Spring Lake Heights, NJ — December 29 — A report of a downed tree with live electrical lines on Parkview Terrace prompted the Independent Fire Company #1 Spring Lake Heights to respond. In order to safeguard the public and emergency personnel, the route between Greenwood Drive and Claridge Drive was closed.

In collaboration with law enforcement and utility companies, firefighters implemented traffic control and guarded the area. According to officials, downed trees and energized wires pose major risks, particularly for passing cars and pedestrians. Until the hazard was reduced and the road was deemed safe, residents were instructed to stay away from Parkview Terrace and take alternate routes. The department advised people to avoid downed wires and notify emergency services of any similar situations.
