The Cherry City Volunteer Fire Company looked back on a busy 2025 filled with consistent call traffic and continuous training as the year concluded. Serving both the local community and mutual assistance partners, the department has responded to 619 fire calls since January 1. Members spent a lot of time learning new skills in areas including trench rescue, building collapse, and the basics of firefighting, in addition to emergency responses.

According to department officials, reaction and training work together to make sure members are ready for a variety of situations. Cherry City VFC noted it will continue to look for opportunities to improve service and readiness for residents and neighboring departments. As 2026 begins, the department expressed appreciation for community support and wished everyone a safe and healthy New Year, reaffirming its motto, “Always Ready, Always Willing.”
