December 27, 2025, morning — The Boonton Township Fire Department was dispatched as mutual aid to Kinnelon Borough for a fully involved working structure fire at 7 Caitlin Court. Initial dispatch for Tanker 6 occurred earlier in the morning, and prior to arrival, a third alarm was transmitted, bringing additional Boonton Township units, including Engine 4 and Utility 10, into the assignment.
Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy fire conditions throughout the residence. Tanker 6 supplied supplemental water to the scene through Kinnelon Engine 22, while the crews from Tanker 6 and Utility 10 were assigned to fire suppression operations on the B-side of the structure. Engine 4 was redirected to Boonton Avenue Company 2 to provide coverage for Kinnelon during the incident.
All Boonton Township units were released from the scene at approximately 2:15 p.m. Fire officials commended the coordinated efforts of all mutual aid companies involved. The fire resulted in a complete loss of the residence, and thoughts and prayers were extended to the affected family.
