South Plainfield, New Jersey — December 14 — Truck 7 of the South Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department, located at 123 Maple Avenue, responded to a second-alarm structure fire in the City of Plainfield's 800 block of Central Street.
The Truck 7 crew was given vertical ventilation upon arrival by Plainfield Fire Department command. Crews could access the roof and open ventilation ports thanks to the aerial's placement on the Charlie/Delta side of the structure. In order to lessen the main body of fire, Truck 7 ran two master streams during operations. Following knockdown, the crew checked for concealed fire expansion and helped with overhaul. Until the situation was under control, Truck 7 worked with Plainfield units and other mutual-aid organizations.
