Sayrewood South, New Jersey — December 16, 2025 — Volunteer firefighters from the South Old Bridge Volunteer Fire Company were called to a reported structure fire on Sioux Street in Old Bridge Township's Sayrewood South neighborhood at around 7:45 p.m. A two-story residential property with a basement was responded to by crews on slick roads.

As more crews approached inside lines on the first and second stories, firefighters started fighting the fire from the back outside of the house. Before the situation was resolved, operations, including overhaul and cleanup, lasted for about six hours. The cause of the incident is still being looked at, and no other information on injuries was provided.

The department was toned out once more for a different incident at around 1:30 a.m., which was quickly resolved. Cheesequake, East Brunswick, Robertsville, Monroe, and District 3 Fire Prevention all offered mutual help. Old Bridge Township EMS, Old Bridge OEM, OBMUA, and Old Bridge Police Department were among the support organizations present.
