Perth Amboy, NJ — December 15 — After four months of recruit training, firefighters Jonathan Torres and Kenneth Taylor III of the Perth Amboy Fire Department, which has its headquarters at 375 New Brunswick Avenue, graduated from the Morris County Fire Academy. A foundation in fire suppression, search and rescue, ladder operations, hose handling, and firefighter safety was given by the academy curriculum. In order to satisfy county and state requirements, recruits also finished classroom training and practical evolutions. Torres and Taylor displayed the abilities needed for operational readiness with their peers. Next week, both firefighters are expected to start their shift assignments. The department's goal of safeguarding people and property across the City of Perth Amboy is supported by their graduation, which signifies the change from recruit training to active duty service.
