Englishtown, NJ — December 16 — Engine 8 of Monroe Twp Fire District #3, which has its headquarters at 16 Centre Drive, responded to a reported fire involving many sheds in Englishtown during the night on a mutual-aid assignment. After arriving, the crew was tasked with working with nearby fire departments to aid with fire suppression efforts. In addition to supporting overall scene operations, crews tried to control the fire and stop it from spreading to other structures. After the fire was contained, Engine 8 staff helped with overhaul to make sure the area was safe and to look for any hot spots. Overnight mutual-aid actions contribute to the provision of sufficient personnel and resources for fighting fires. Engine 8 cleared the area and went back into service after finishing the tasks assigned to it, staying available for other calls.
