South River, NJ — December 15 — In response to a second alarm fire in South River, the B Platoon of Monroe Twp Fire District #3, which has its headquarters at 16 Centre Drive, participated in a mutual-aid operation. When more resources were needed, crews helped the South River Fire Department with designated fireground operations. In order to manage prolonged operations and ensure firefighter safety, second alarm occurrences are used to call in more personnel, equipment, and assistance. Units collaborated with other responding authorities on the scene while operating under the established incident command system. B Platoon units started demobilization and cleared the area after fulfilling their assigned responsibilities and assisting with suppression efforts. The response demonstrated the fire agencies' ongoing regional cooperation and preparedness.
