Seekonk, MA — October 22 — Amid a bustling week of operations, the Seekonk Fire Department seamlessly integrated fire prevention initiatives, firefighter training programs, and community engagement efforts, culminating in a charity softball match pitted against the Seekonk Police Department.

Department personnel engaged young students at local preschools to disseminate essential fire safety protocols and foundational emergency awareness. These outreach initiatives served a dual purpose: they provided a platform for introducing fire prevention strategies at an early developmental stage, while simultaneously acclimating children to the presence and roles of first responders.

In addition, crews partnered with adjacent fire departments to conduct forcible entry training. This exercise provided firefighters with an opportunity to refine the specialized techniques required for breaching secured structures during emergency responses, while simultaneously enhancing operational coordination among neighboring agencies.

Community engagement was further demonstrated through the annual "Battle of the Badges" softball match, which pitted our team against the Seekonk Police Department, with proceeds dedicated to supporting Doorways Food Pantry of Seekonk.

This nonprofit entity plays a vital role in supplying essential groceries to local residents grappling with food insecurity.

The Seekonk firefighters secured a decisive 26-13 triumph, returning home victorious after lending their support to a local community organization.

The department's recent activities underscored its commitment to endeavors extending well beyond emergency response operations. Through initiatives ranging from educational programs for children and the enhancement of operational competencies to providing critical support for local families, the Seekonk Fire Department has maintained a robust presence across a diverse spectrum of community service functions.

Headquartered at 500 Taunton Avenue, the department maintained its operational base while steadfastly prioritizing public safety, professional training, and community outreach.
