Stewartsville Fire Company Records 38 Calls in September

According to the company’s monthly activity report, firefighters in the Stewartsville area answered 38 calls in September, raising the department’s year-to-date total to 312 calls. 


In September, the calls totaled 22 EMS assists, five automatic fire alarms, five motor vehicle accidents, two wire fires, one carbon monoxide alarm, one gas leak, one technical rescue, and one vehicle fire. The department also carried out its routine monthly inspections of apparatus and equipment.


Training carried on throughout the month. Firefighters used Brush 98-82 to practice setting up a water supply in areas that are more difficult for larger vehicles to reach. The department’s equipment page lists 98-82 as a 1997 Ford F-350 brush truck/ light-duty rescue vehicle, outfitted with a 200-gallon-per -minute pump and a 250-gallon booster tank.
