Fanwood Crews Handled Tree Strike With Structural Damage

Fanwood, NJ — September 27 — At around 7:35 a.m., the Fanwood Fire Department, located at 275 North Martine Ave., responded with Engine 7 and Ladder 1 to a call involving a large tree that had fallen into a private home and caused structural damage. When the firefighters arrived, they first checked the condition of the building to determine the extent of the damage. They then took necessary actions to ensure the property was made safe. The department turned off the utilities at the residence to minimize the risk of further hazards while the damaged area was carefully examined.


The home was evacuated as firefighters worked around the affected part of the building.

Throughout the operation, the crew focused on maintaining scene safety and reducing any potential risks linked to the damaged structure and the fallen tree.


Fanwood operates a municipal Fire Department as part of its emergency services, with the borough listing the Fire Department along with its Police Department and Rescue Squad.
