Joint Fire Training Brings Four Orleans County Departments Together

Newport, Vt. — September 24 — Firefighters from four Orleans County departments joined forces for a multi-agency training exercise centered on primary search, VEIS (Vent-Enter -Isolate -Search) procedures, and hose management.
The training was hosted with participation from the Newport City Fire Department, the Newport Center Fire Department, the Glover Fire Department, and the Lowell Fire Department. The departments devoted several hours to coordinated training exercises aimed at enhancing familiarity with search techniques, hose-line deployment, and teamwork during structure fire operations.
The drill demanded careful planning and collaboration across the involved departments. The Newport City Fire Department stated that the preparation was crucial to making the training feasible and expressed gratitude to the firefighters and others who assisted in organizing the session.
